ATAKUM ANATOLIAN IMAM HATIP HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDING MISSION

ATAKUM ANATOLIAN
IMAM HATIP HIGH SCHOOL

Atakum Anatolian Imam Hatip High School was established in 2011 with a vision that extended far beyond conventional education. From the very beginning, it was built on the belief that students must be nurtured not only academically but as conscientious individuals who carry the weight of their responsibilities as both humans and as Muslims.

In 2014, the school was elevated to Project School status and launched an Arabic preparatory class, marking the beginning of a unique dual-language educational path. Just a year later in 2015, an English preparatory class was incorporated, making Atakum Anatolian Imam Hatip the first and only project school in Türkiye with both English and Arabic preparatory programmes.

This dual language foundation reflects a deeper mission: to raise generations who can engage with the world’s problems not only as observers but as the bridge builders armed with linguistic ability, moral clarity, and a grounded Islamic perspective.

ATAMUN CLUB &
MUN JOURNEY

Building on its mission of preparing globally aware graduates, Atakum Anatolian Imam Hatip High School founded its MUN Club in 2016 and began participating in Model United Nations conferences across the country.

The club worked with remarkable dedication and accumulated valuable knowledge and experience in Model United Nations within a short period of time, enabling it to host its own conference just one year after its establishment. Through the following years, ATAMUN developed into a nationally recognised conference with ATAMUN’18 and ATAMUN’19, drawing participants from all over Türkiye.

In 2020, ATAMUN adapted to the pandemics by hosting ATAONLINE’20, an entirely online MUN conference, proving the club’s resilience and commitment to diplomacy beyond borders. The tradition then continued with ATAMUN’22, ATAMUN’23, and ATAMUN’25, each edition building on the last.

Now, ATAMUN returns with renewed ambition as ATAMUN’26, a conference that honours everything achieved in previous years while pushing the boundaries for an unforgettable experience.
