HISTORICAL CRISIS COMMITTEE
AGENDA ITEM

Siege of Jerusalem (1187)

ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE

The holy city of Muslims, Judaists and Christians; Jerusalem, attracted many empires with its religious, geopolitical and strategic value. In 1099, Crusaders organized the First Crusades and took control of Jerusalem. The Holy City needed a strong government but internal strife in the late 12th century led to the collapse of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. With a newfound opportunity, Muslims recalled that the Holy City was a constant goal of the Muslim world. In the Historical Crisis Committee, delegates will determine the fate of Jerusalem. Will history repeat itself? Or will the Christians reach their utterest goal?
